Darjeeling

Darjeeling era uno de nuestros destinos favoritos pero nos ha costado un poco llegar hasta aqui. Una vez conseguimos billete para salir corriendo de Patna la cosa no termino ahi. Cuando entramos al bagon del tren habia cinco personas sentadas en cada una de nuestras camas! asique nos toco sacar nuestro genio espaniol! como? nos pusimos a gritar que esas eran nuestras camas y que todo el mundo fuera de alli.... resulto! se bajaron y nos dejaron nuestro sitio aunque el dejar de mirarnos no entraba en el trato! aun asi el tren no se vacio hasta que llego el revisor unas horas mas tarde... bueno no os voy a contar el viaje porque fue simplemente con calor y muchas horas. Llegamos a New Jalpaiguri donde nos encontramos de narices con una huelga general! si si huelga general!!! asique no pudimos sacar un billete de tren para nuestro siguiente destino Darjeeling, asique tuvimos que cogernos una habitacion en la misma estacion! que no estaba muy mal y esa tarde la usamos para ver ese pueblo y el de al lado aunque todo estaba cerrado, pero conseguimos hacer unas fotos muy chulas en unas chavolas. Al dia siguiente nos levantamos a las 5 de la maniana y a las 6 estabamos de camino a Darjeeling en un Jeep, llegamos como unas 4 horas mas tarde al centro de la por ahora ha sido nuestra ciudad preferida de la India Darjeeling.
Esta ciudad nos ha sorprendido muy muy gratamente, esta muchisimo mas limpia que el resto de ciudades de India donde hemos estado, es mucho mas puro, menos abogiante y mas bonito. El primer dia intentamos comprar un vuelo que nos llevase el dia 12 a Delhi y despues de varios intentos lo conseguimos. El otro objetivo era conseguir un trekking y pese a que no ibamos a estar muchos dias por la zona conseguimos contratar un trekking de dos dias con subida al Tomblu de 3070 metros de altitud, en el que si el tiempo lo dejaba podriamos ver toda la cordillera del Himalaya, todo ilusionadas de haber conseguido este trekking cenamos en un sitio una hamburguesa vegetariana que resulto ser muy muy picante.... no se puede pedir todo!. Al dia siguiente salimos temprano a nuestra pequenia aventura, la cual se unio Elli una chica australiana muy simpatica que esta alojada en nuestra misma pension. El trekking comenzo genial! con muchas ganas y con una ilusion tremenda de ver el Himalaya, nuestras ganas seguian pero como a poco nos dimos cuenta que ibamos a tener mala suerte ya que todo el camino de 11 kilometros hasta llegar al ultimo refugio donde dormimos fue empaniado por una densa niebla que no nos dejo en todo el viaje, asique no pudimos disfrutar de las vistas. Al final el dia nos recomenso abriendose un poco y dejandonos ver la puesta de Sol. Cenamos genial, vimos las estrellas y nos acostamos las cuatro en una habitacion de la muy acogedora cabania. A la maniana siguiente la esperanza era que se levantara abierto para poder ver toda la cordillera, no tuvimos tanta suerte y tan solo pudimos ver Kanchenjunga de 8600 metros, pero bueno mericio la pena, luego volvimos al refugio a desayunar y continuar la subida al Tonglu de una hora y empezar la bajada que para no variar ha estado pasada por agua. Ahora estamos disfrutando de esta preciosa ciudad y maniana intentaremos por ultima vez ver la cordillera, ya os contare.


Darjeeling was one of our favorite destinations, but we struggled a bit to get here. Once we get a ticket to run away from Patna the problems did not end there. When we entered the train, there were five people sitting in each one of our beds! so we used our spanish character! how? we started to shout at them that these were our beds and everyone must go out of there ....it worked! they got out but not looking at us like crazy was not included in the deal! even so the train was not empty until the conductor came a few hours later ... well I am not going to tell you about the trip because it was just heat and long hours like always. We arrived at New Jalpaiguri where we are face to face with a general strike! yes yes general strike! so we could not get a train ticket to our next destination, Darjeeling, we had to get a room in the same train station! It was not too bad. We went to see the next town where everything was closed but we managed to do some really cool pictures in a few shacks. The next day we got up at 5 and 6 in the morning we were in our way to Darjeeling in a Jeep, we arrived about 4 hours later to the center of which it has been our favorite city of India, Darjeeling.
This city had a very very pleasantly surprised, it's a lot cleaner than most of the cities in India where we have been, it is much more pure, less overwhelming and more beautiful. The first day we tried to buy a flight tickets that it will take us back to Delhi on the 12th and after several attempts we got it. The other goal was to get a trekking and even though we were not going to be many days in the area we managed to get a two days trek to climb the Tomblu of 3070 meters above sea level, which if the weather left us we would see the entire range the Himalayas, we were so excited to have booked this trekking that we had a veggie burger for dinner which turned out to be very very spicy .... we could not ask for everything!. The next day we left early to our little adventure, which Ellie, very nice Australian girl that is staying in the same guest house as us came with us. The trek started great! with a tremendous hopes of seeing the Himalayas, our desire continued but after a little we realize we were going to have bad luck because the entire trek of 11 km to reach the last refuge where we slept was a dense fog not lefting us the entire trip enjoyed the views. In the end of the day we were being rewarded when the sky opened a little and letting us see the sunset. The dinner was great, we saw the stars and the four of us went to bed in a cozy room in the refuge. The following morning we hoped to get up to a more open sky to be able to see all the mountains, we did not have so much luck and we saw only Kanchenjunga 8,600 m, but it was worth it, then we came back to the refuge for breakfast and to continue o climb to Tonglu for one hour and start the descent, raining all the time. Now we are enjoying this beautiful city and tomorrow we will try one last time to see the mountains, and I will tell you.
